ClexaCon has been described as life changing; a safe space for LGBTQ+ women, trans, non-binary and genderqueer people and our allies to meet, share our interests and make new connections that can make our lives better.

We know that it is tough to sometimes make ends meet, or even to be accepted for who you are at home, work or school. So, we want to help more people attend ClexaCon 2020 and we will help cover some of the costs of getting you there.

We’ll be awarding full scholarships that cover the costs of flights, hotels and convention tickets as well as partial scholarships. The total number of scholarships awarded changes each year. If you’d like to help support more people please consider donating to the scholarship fund.

What does it cost to help someone attend the convention?

Costs vary greatly due to where scholarship recipients are located. Until the scholarship committee makes its decisions, we will not be able to give an average cost. However, we will work with the host hotel and with other Las Vegas hotels to secure the best deals on accommodation to ensure that funds raised will go as far as possible, to help as many people as possible.

What if I want my friend/Twitter mutual to get my specific donation?

If you want to help a friend directly, please consider donating directly to that person. All money raised through the Scholarship Find is pooled and awarded based on essay submissions.

I’d like to help cover the full costs for someone to attend. How can I go about doing that?

Please email [email protected], if this is something you would like to do. We would love to set up a full scholarship in your name or anonymously.

I would like to make a donation in someone’s name or set up a recurring scholarship. Who should I contact?

Please email [email protected]. We would love to help you with this.

How will we know that all the money is being used the way you say? What kind of transparency will there be about the money that is raised?

With the permission of scholarship recipients, we aim to print the names and photos of winners on our website and/or app, though recipients can choose to remain unlisted. The total amount raised is visible on the GoFundMe page. All monies raised will be awarded for ClexaCon 2020. If any funds are unclaimed by recipients, it will be directed to other applicants.

If I donate money, will you tell me who that money is helping?

All funds raised will go into a pool that will be used to fund travel and/or accommodation for scholarship recipients selected by our committee. Unless you contact us to set up a scholarship to fully fund an attendee, we will not be able to specify exactly who you have helped.

How much financial support will you be giving to each person who receives a scholarship?
